We are seeking a Geophysical Engineer to join the team supporting the Air Force Technical Applications Center at Patrick Space Force Base in Melbourne, Florida. 
NOTE: This is not a remote/telework job. 
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Kegman’s engineer will provide multi-discipline engineering support to AFTAC’s global subsurface mission employing unattended sensor systems (seismic, infrasonic, and hydroacoustic) and supporting infrastructure (power, grounding, communication networks). This position will support three primary areas: Operations and Sustainment Engineering Services, Engineering & Technical Support Services, and Integration & Installation Support Services. 
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interpret system level engineering requirements to establish sensor and infrastructure designs, specifications, qualification test plans and procedures, and verification documentation.
  • Evaluate, modify, upgrade, phase out, and disposal of mission systems required for siting, preparation, installation, upgrade, operation and maintenance of new and existing seismic, hydroacoustic, and infrasonic sensors and their support infrastructure.
  • Apply and maintain configuration control through design integration, documentation, and investigation.
  • Support the installation of new systems (and support infrastructure) and the engineering upgrades to existing systems, ensuring interoperability while upholding mission requirements.
  • Identify and troubleshoot engineering deficiencies of existing systems to resolution
  • Develop and review sustainment-related documentation including technical drawings, system manuals, Engineering Change Orders and maintenance procedures.
  • Prepare technical reports on integration and installation support issues and corrective recommendation actions to senior government executives.
  • Report findings, progress and recommended corrective actions upon attending meetings at the direction of the government.
  • International travel 15-25%


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in engineering from an accredited program, preferably electrical.
  • Minimum of 8 years (B.S.) or 4 years (M.S.) of relevant experience performing tasks similar to those above.
  • Experience with engineering drawing documentation standards and applications.
  • Test procedure development and execution.
  • Experience working within various phases of the acquisition life cycle.
  • Experience in root cause analysis and knowledge of power systems (commercial, solar, wind), communications/RF systems and data telemetry, grounding and lightning protection, automated test, networks, power systems, and equipment/subsystem integration.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • U.S. Passport

DESIRED:

  • Experience working within a government Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).
  • Experience in deriving and marking classified documents according to the National Industrial Security Program (NISPOM) and security classification guides.
  • Electrical design and specification for systems integration.
  • Familiarity with AUTODESK
  • Programming experience in Python, MATLAB, LINIX systems. 

OTHER:

  • US citizenship required. 
  • Must have a fully adjudicated (not an interim) Government clearance.
  • Must pass a drug test.
