Specific Job Requirements:
Ownership of accounting & analysis for certain key balance sheet accounts. Specifically, prepaid assets, advances and deposits, fixed assets, intangible assets, leases, and other assigned areas.
Perform month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing duties, including preparing journal entries, variance reporting, reconciliations, and account analysis to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.
Prepare schedules and support the quarterly reviews/year-end audit with external auditors for the areas assigned.
Participate in process improvements and the development and implementation of internal controls.
Assist in ad-hoc reporting and other special projects as needed.
Knowledge:
Thorough understanding of key accounting concepts, U.S. GAAP and internal controls
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, plus 5 years of overall experience, with a minimum of 2 years of public accounting experience (Big 4 or large national firm) preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CPA (or equivalent) is a plus
Lease accounting (ASC 842) experience preferred
Ability to assess and recommend improvements for processes and procedures willingness to learn new concepts and work with teammates to find solutions
Strong communication and problem-solving skills both orally and in writing
Strong organization skills with an ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
High-energy self-starter, able to work autonomously, identify, suggest and implement areas for improvement;
Experience in NetSuite system a plus
