General Description:
We are looking for an experienced General Ledger Accountant to join our new Shared Service Centre in Warsaw, Poland. This is a key position for an experienced, ambitious finance professional who is motivated to contribute to setting up the regional finance function as BeiGene builds out its presence around the world. The position will deal with a broad range of accounting topics across various countries. The incumbent must bring good US GAAP and local GAAP knowledge combined with hands on experience of SAP (4HANA a strong plus). Strong communication and cultural sensitivity are required to work across multiple geograhies and collaborate with colleagues in the US, Europe and Asia. As a valuable resource to the organization the incumbent is pro-active and brings strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a non-structured environment in a hybrid working model.
This role offers a hybrid work model, 3 days in our Warsaw office (located in the city center next to Nowy Swiat Metro Station) per week with 2 days remote
Essential Functions of the job:
- Entering General Ledger journal entries in SAP, to record all relevant transactions on a daily basis, and taking ownership of diverse closing activities to ensure all activities assigned in the closing checklist are properly and timely recorded
- Prepare Balance Sheet accounts reconciliations, ensuring appropriate backup in place to support balances and resolve any reconciling or overdue items in a timely and appropriate manner
- Assist with SOX compliance, internal and external audits.
- Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
- Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
- Assist with SOX compliance, internal and external audits.
- Miscellaneous projects as they arise.
Requirements:
- Accounting/Business/Finance Bachelor degree and around 3 years GL experience in an accounting shared service center environment - (Big 4 and/or healthcare experience a plus).
- WILLIGNESS to learn and grow whilst executing daily transactional accounting tasks; desire to work in a fast paced, changing (currently unstructured) environment in a hybrid working model.
- Excellent communication skills combined with cultural sensitivity.
- Excellent spoken/written English – any other languages a plus (e.g. French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, etc.).
Computer Skills: SAP knowledge required, S/4 Hana an advantage, Excel, Concur, Workday, on -line banking
