Overview
Coordinate and perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, inventory, travel expenses, and all other bookkeeping activities. Prepare bank payments and enter bank statements. Maintain general ledger and reconcile account balances to detail for monthly financial statement preparation and reporting to US parent Company. Stand in functions like preparing sales invoices and controlling tasks like preparing regular sales reports.
Professional QualificationsEducation and Experience
- Associates Degree in Business Administration or Accounting or equivalent experience.
- three to five years experience in bookkeeping/accounting.
- Fluent in German, all oral and written, is essential.
- Good English skills.
- Proficient in MS Office especially Word and Excel and use office equipment.
General
- High standard of integrity due to exposure of this position to extremely sensitive and highly confidential information.
- Extreme competency in attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Dependable in work habits and reliable in attendance.
- Proficient in spreadsheet and word processing programs, preferably Microsoft Excel and Word. Familiarity with Oracle Netsuite software is preferred.
- Fluency in German, both oral and written, is essential.
- Good knowledge of English language, both oral and written.
- Knowledgeable in German/EC-standards accounting practices. Knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting practices desired.
Position ResponsibilitiesSpecific
- Ensure compliance with all Germany statutory regulations.
- Prepare bank deposits and perform data entry of all customer payments.
- Record bank statements.
- Perform data entry of vendor invoices and process vendor payments. Ensure the correct accounting classification of all vendor invoices.
- Prepare sales invoices.
- Record fixed assets, maintain inventory list.
- Prepare payroll reports.
- Review the general ledger and all nominal accounts to ensure accuracy of recorded information with proper supporting documentation. Prepare monthly journal entries and closings and monthly and year-end financial statements. Report operating results to the US parent.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly controlling reports.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual reports as required by local and national government authorities.
General
1. Assist the Sr. Commercial Director in the:
- analysis and reporting of financial results to provide forecasts and identify problem areas.
- development of financial data necessary for the preparation and evaluation of business plans and allocation of resources.
- preparation of schedules for independent auditors performance of year-end audit and completion of corporate income tax returns.
- Human resources activities as directed.
3. Holiday cover for essential office tasks.
4. Other duties as assigned.
