About the Role
Yieldstreet is hiring a Fund Accountant to work on the Athens team responsible for all our accounting and finance functions. The role will be based in our Services Hub in Athens, Greece and will be reporting to the Financial Controller in New York, US. The job is to assist the Accounting and Finance team with the timely, efficient and accurate financial reporting of various entities. This role is for someone who has experience in accounting and the ability to apply relevant investment company accounting rules. This role will be based out of the Athens office and you should expect to be in the office 3 days per week
What you'll do:
- Work with Yieldstreet Funds and Individual Offerings
- Prepare the financial reporting package to deliver to the auditors at year-end
- Prepare month-end financial reconciliations
- Work with internal teams for year-end tax process of 1099s and K-1s
- Work with outside auditors and tax professionals
- Own tasks assigned while playing an important role in projects relating to the operations of the accounting function
- Support the firm's initiatives in process improvement and system implementation
- Ad-hoc reports as necessary
What you'll need:
- 3-5 years accounting/auditing experience within investment management, or a reputable audit firm
- Bachelor's degree in Economics / Finance / Accounting. Masters or equivalent degree in a relevant field or ACA/ACCA/CPA qualified/part qualified
- Previous experience in US GAAP is preferred.
- Understanding of accounting and the ability to apply relevant investment company accounting rules ASC 946
- Knowledge of reconciliation procedures and account analysis
- Demonstrate ability to proactively present and escalate ideas, suggestions and problems to ensure continuous improvement
- An exceptional eye for detail, whilst working within strict timelines
- Tenacious and a strong sense of ownership over assigned tasks
- Proactive and methodical approach to work
Bonus points for:
- Ability to problem solve with a tactical and strategic mindset and contribute to a collaborative work environment
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience with Advent Geneva, portfolio accounting and familiarity with Looker, or other cloud-based ERP essential
