About the Product
As the Functional Lead, you will oversee FüWES (Führungs- und WaffenEinsatzSystem) – the command system at the heart of F126 ships. FüWES integrates TACTICOS with a newly developed Fire Control solution, orchestrating the development and integration of all onboard subsystems.
This role covers the entire development lifecycle:
- From concept definition and system design
- Through integration and validation
- To delivery aboard customer vessels
The result? Enabling the next generation of frigates with the tools to make critical defense decisions in seconds.
About the Job
As Functional Lead, you’ll be the essential link between internal stakeholders, technical roadmaps, and agile development teams across multiple streams. Your mission is to guide the technical solution, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely delivery with the highest quality.
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Lead and coordinate Agile teams across streams in a Scrum environment
- Translate technical requirements into system/software designs and specifications
- Prioritize backlogs using Jira and EazyBI, ensuring alignment with delivery goals
- Facilitate design sessions, challenge POs, and drive stream input on time and quality
- Collaborate with Work Package Managers, architects, POs, and other Functional Leads
- Manage stakeholders, both internal and external
About You
You’ll be a great fit if you:
- Have 6+ years of relevant experience (with a focus on Naval Combat Management Systems)
- Bring expertise in software design, system engineering, and IVVQ of software-intensive systems
- Enjoy technical requirement engineering and working with development teams
- Are patient yet decisive, thriving in the delivery of high-tech, complex products
- Appreciate teamwork in a dynamic, international setting
- Hold a university/HBO-level degree
- Are available for 32–40 hours per week
