Job Description
Empowering future leaders in the Construction Industry! Are you passionate about engineering, land surveying or geology and eager to make an impact? We are excited to be able to offer scholarship opportunities to ambitious individuals pursuing a degree or diploma in these fields at a recognised tertiary institute in New Zealand.
Our scholarship students spend their summer breaks working in a variety of teams across Fulton Hogan, all while signing off your practical (hands on) hours. You will be work under the guidance of experienced professionals, gaining valuable contracting skills and experiences to help build your career.
On completion of your qualification, you will start your career with Fulton Hogan by joining our two-year graduate development programme. This programme is designed to provide you with hands-on experience, exposure to different aspects of our business, and the opportunity to develop essential skills required to continue to progress your career with us.
Scholarship recipients receive:

Financial support towards your polytech/university tuition fees.

Guaranteed paid summer work (practical hours).

Undergraduate work throughout the year, where appropriate.

A permanent graduate position upon completion of studies.
Financial support towards tuition fees, are as outlined below:
Polytech:

Degree (2nd year) – 75% of fees.

Degree/Diploma (final year) - 100% of fees.
University:

Pre-Penultimate (1st year pro) - 50% of fees.

Penultimate (2nd year pro) - 75% of fees.

Final year (3rd year pro) - 100% of fees.

Eligibility criteria:

You will hold a New Zealand/Australian citizenship or NZ permanent residence status.

Have a passion for practical, hands on contracting work.

Currently studying civil or mechanical engineering, land surveying or geology at a recognised tertiary institute (diploma or degree) in New Zealand.

Won’t be in your final year of study or eligible for fees free in 2026.

Demonstrates Fulton Hogan values and behaviours.

Has a full class 1 licence (preferred).
