As a Full Stack Engineer at AKQA, you build the development, testing, and content integration pipeline for the platform. We expect you to grow developer productivity, enable continuous deployment, exercise flawless content editing, and minimize QA lifecycles. We are looking for a hands-on, Fullstack AEM Lead Developer to deliver a high impact website project for a 4 month engagement for a major global brand, with the possibility for extension. AKQA Developers have a strong dedication to recent and upcoming technologies, as well as the drive to develop innovative technical solutions. As a Lead Developer at AKQA, you will work with a team of highly skilled people – each with strong opinions about various technologies, frameworks and approaches to delivery.
This role will be dedicated to this project and to bootstrapping and developing the AEM-backed site through best practices and industry standards, with support from an additional back-end developer and front-end developers. You will lead development implementation efforts, mentor team members, and ensure adherence to AEM best practices. Please note: This is a 4-month freelance contract role. No visa transfers or visa sponsorships will be offered at this time. Candidates for this role must be able to work West Coast hours.
This position is REMOTE and is associated with the AKQA San Francisco studio.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience as a Fullstack Developer with expertise in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) 6.5 or higher
- Strong skills in Java, Sling, OSGi, and AEM development frameworks
- Proficiency in front-end technologies (HTM5L, CSS3, JavaScript, Webpack, SCSS)
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines in Adobe Experience Manager as a Cloud Service
- Excellent problem-solving, ownership, and communication skills
- Adaptable to dynamic project environments and proactive in navigating delivery challenges
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and mentoring developers without AEM experience is a bonus
- Experience developing SpringBoot applications and deploying to AWS is preferred but not required
QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS
- 5+ years’ experience working as a fullstack developer
- Proven experience as a fullstack developer working on AEM 6.5, deployed through Adobe Experience Manager as a Cloud Service
- Strong mix of back-end (Java, OSGi, Sightly templating) and front-end (HTML5, CSS3, JS, Webpack, SCSS) skills
- Eager to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Experience with web application development
- Able to articulate their ideas to a team
- Thrives when facing new challenges in improving client deliverables
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to interact professionally with a diverse group of people
- Boundlessly creative and relentlessly attentive to detail
The pay range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
Weekly pay rate between $4,000 - $4,500.
