Job Description
The Red Gate Group is seeking a skilled Full Stack Web Developer - Backend Specialization to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in Reston, VA. As a Full-Stack Developer, you’ll be more than just a coder. You’ll be a mentor, guiding junior team members while sharing best practices and driving continuous improvement. Your ability to innovate, optimize, and design scalable solutions will play a critical role in shaping the future of our products. You’ll work on both the front-end and back-end, ensuring seamless user experiences and robust, future-proof architectures.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with software development
- Experience with back-end development
- Experience with TypeScript or JavaScript
- Experience with Node.js JavaScript runtime environment and the Express framework
- Experience with SQL syntax and queries
- Experience with API development including REST architectures
- Knowledge of Agile methodology
- DoD 8570 Compliant Security+ or CISSP certification
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Active TS/SCI Clearance
Desired Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience with developing backend software applications/services
- 2+ years of experience with developing in a microservices architecture
- Experience with React, Next.js
- Experience with testing frameworks and code quality tools, such as Jest and SonarQube
- Experience with user authentication workflows, including OAuth 2.0 framework and OpenID Connect
- Experience with Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) packages, such as Sequelize
- Knowledge of JIRA, Git, GitLab
- Ability to understand user requirements
- Ability to investigate root causes and provide corrective actions
