As a Fractional People Business Partner at ActBlue, you will play a pivotal role working closely with multiple teams and leaders across our business to align people and strategy. You will contribute at both strategic and hands-on levels to cultivate an amazing and innovative culture, bringing creative and effective ideas and solutions for our changing organization.
Acting as the face of ActBlue to employees you will assess, coach, and influence leaders as we scale and evolve to enable our teams to accomplish their short term and long term strategic plans. Your focus will be to become a strategic advisor to the business leaders you support, by creating a People Strategy that aligns the business strategy and goals to talent strategies.
This role will not only work directly with several members of the leadership team, but also dive deep into the organization by providing tactical support of daily activities. Day-to-day business partnering will consist of leveraging your expertise in Org Design, Workforce Planning, Succession Planning, Coaching, Diversity Equity Inclusion and Belonging, Talent Management, Compensation, and Talent Development.
The Fractional People & Culture Business Partner is an integral member of ActBlue’s People & Culture team, will act as a trusted advisor to managers and staff, and will report to the Chief P&C Officer.
This is a temporary assignment with a 3-6 month duration.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Design and deliver targeted solutions with a high degree of focus on performance and growth, including strategic planning, visioning, talent assessment, change management and team building
- Provide strategic guidance to senior leaders across the business teams you support, driving a visible impact on our evolving business
- Provide strategic business partnership, thought partnership, and coaching to all levels of the organization
- Proactively assess team, manager, organizational development needs, make recommendations, and implement appropriate solutions
- Provide rigorous data analysis and reporting solutions based on business needs
- Drive talent management strategies to support the assigned business team’s growth and individual development plans
- Oversee performance review cycles and employee engagement surveys, including calibrations, presenting results, action planning, and measuring effectiveness with clients.
- Contribute to projects and programs that enhance the employee experience and position us as a best-in-class company to work for.
- Integrate and partner with P&C colleagues across the org to implement solutions and help grow the business
- Partner closely with our Workplace Experience Partners, supporting employee and labor relations issues and Performance Improvement Plans as needed
- Work closely with Talent Development and Talent Acquisition partners, supporting Talent Development and Acquisition strategies and initiatives as needed
- Design and facilitate business team and offsite leadership meetings as needed
- Deploy transformational people programs to shape the future of Act Blue
- Create DEIB strategies to build cultural competence to operate with an inclusive mindset
- May support supplementary projects as assigned, ensuring timely and efficient completion in line with organizational objectives and standards
WHAT YOU BRING
- 6-8 years experience in an People Business Partner or equivalent role
- Experience across the majority (if not all) areas of P&C: Organizational Design, Workforce Planning, DEIB, Employee Experience, Talent and Performance Management, Total Rewards, Employee Relations
- Demonstrates solid judgment and experience assessing risk relative to the business
- Effective communication and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrates empathy and experience driving DEIB work
- Demonstrates project management and change management experience
- Demonstrated experience learning and thriving in a changing environment and to cultivate relationships across teams
- Experience using data to identify insights that drive action
- Demonstrated experience in influencing and strategically solve problems
- Ability to think critically and anticipate issues before they arise, and proactively suggest long-term solutions
- Consulting, coaching and facilitation skills
- Strong presentation skills and an ability to tailor content to specific audiences
- Ability to work cross-functionally within a people and culture team
- Commitment to building actively anti-racist processes with a lens towards Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in hiring

This posting is for a fractional, remote, salaried position. Travel may be required on a limited basis to attend all-staff and departmental retreats (1-2 times per year). Additional travel may be required for select positions.

Work Schedule:
This role requires availability during established, regular business hours (Mon-Fri).
Work Environment:
Employees can expect to work with distributed teams across all U.S. time zones. Our roles require extended technology usage, and proficiency with virtual communication tools such as Zoom and Slack. Regular attendance in virtual meetings is inherent to every position.
Salary Range Details:
Salary Range: $113,300 - $142,150 - $171,000
ActBlue is committed to consistent compensation practices across our organization. Final salary offers will take into account factors such as candidate experience, interview performance and current team salary parity.
