Cambium Networks is seeking an experienced and highly motivated FPGA Engineer for our FPGA design and development team. This position involves driving the architecture, development, and deployment of FPGA-based solutions for wireless communication systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation in FPGA design, a passion for innovation, and exceptional leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
•Architect and implement high-performance FPGA designs for wireless communication systems.
•Ensure FPGA designs meet stringent requirements for latency, throughput, and reliability.
•Collaborate with hardware and software teams to deliver integrated solutions.
•Define and manage FPGA project scopes, schedules, and deliverables.
•Work with cross-functional teams to align on product requirements and technical specifications.
•Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure timely delivery.
•Drive RTL design, simulation, synthesis, and implementation using VHDL/Verilog.
•Develop and integrate IP cores for high-speed interfaces (e.g., Ethernet, PCIe, DDR).
•Optimize FPGA designs for power, performance, and area to meet product goals.
•Lead the validation and debugging of FPGA designs in lab and field environments.
•Establish best practices for FPGA development, testing, and documentation.
•Explore and incorporate new tools, methodologies, and technologies to improve productivity and design quality.
•Stay updated on industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies.
•Interface with internal teams, including product management, software, and hardware teams, to align on project requirements.
Required Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
•8+ years of experience in FPGA design and development.
•Extensive experience with Xilinx and Altera FPGA platforms and tools, such as Vivado and Quartus.
•Expertise in RTL design and verification using VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog. Proven track record of implementing high-speed interfaces (e.g., Ethernet, PCIe, DDR).
•Strong debugging skills, including proficiency with lab equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
•Familiarity with FPGA-based wireless communication systems.
•Desirable experience in Wi-Fi client PHY design, including digital beam steering and null steering for enhanced wireless communication and interference suppression.
