Vantage MedTech is seeking an experienced FPGA Engineer (video) to join our team. The FPGA Engineer will be responsible for the development, simulation, implementation, and testing of FPGA and embedded microprocessor-based systems for state-of-the-art medical devices. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for being part of a team developing medical technologies that improve people’s lives.
Knowledge and Skills
- Basic digital electronics debugging skills (oscilloscope, logic analyzer)
- Ability to write system requirements, design documentation, and test reports
- Knowledge of digital video fundamentals
- Excellent analytical skills
- High level of initiative with ability to self-manage
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of and ability to work in a safety-related quality process
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar discipline
- 5+ years’ experience in FPGA/programmable logic design
- Recent experience with Xilinx or Intel/Altera design workflows using VHDL and Verilog
- Experience with FPGA + ARM SoC PL-PS interface and integration
- Experience with video and image processing concepts
- Experience with PCIe, AXI, and DMA concepts
- Experience with soft-core MCUs (MicroBlaze or Nios II) preferred
- Experience interfacing CMOS image sensors preferred
- Experience with buses such as MIPI CSI, DisplayPort, HDMI, or SDI preferred
- Experience with embedded firmware development in C is a plus
- Experience with HLS is a plus
