Purpose and role of job:

This position will allow a driven, hard-working and dedicated candidate to gain experience in the Press and Pre-Press departments of a significant family-owned and growing group of manufacturing companies with exposure to the senior staff, but also to the company’s organization and systems.

Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:

  • Become familiar with FQP&P’s printing process
  • Assist the Pre-Press department in all aspects of the process
  • Inspect printing plates for damage and errors and log the findings
  • Work with Process Engineer to collect and evaluate Press trends
  • Work with the teams to update Fusion specs
  • Keep clear, organized records of all projects
  • Use Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite to edit and design informational media
  • Maintain open communication with the Press and Pre-Press Managers.
  • Provide Managers with measurable growth data for team meetings
  • Follow all GMP, SQF, OSHA and all company policies and procedures
  • Ability to work on multiple projects while adhering to Quality requirements and meeting deadlines

Education and experience requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Candidate that is actively pursuing a print or packaging related degree preferred

Work Environment:

Manufacturing operation

Physical Requirements:

  • Walk/stand 100% of time during a 12-hour shift.
  • Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling and squatting throughout shift.
  • Occasional climbing and reaching 
  • Occasional reaching overhead during shift.
  • Frequent pushing and pulling with arms and legs throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting or carrying items/product weighing 10 pounds.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying items/product weighing 50 pounds.
  • Constant use of hands 
  • Constant light and firm grasping with hands throughout shift.
  • Operation of cranes, hoists, hand trucks and roll manipulators throughout shift.
  • Daily sweeping and organizing floor and work area.
  • Occasional climbing of steps.
  • Balance required for some tasks.
  • Full color vision is an essential job requirement
  • Does not mind getting dirty and maintaining 5s housekeeping standards

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to maintain records and logs
  • Ability to climb ladders and work from high ground – not afraid of heights
  • Ability to operate a PC
  • Ability to use hand tools proficiently
  • Ability to work 12 hour rotating shifts (days/nights)
  • Ability to work in a Tobacco Free Facility and on a Tobacco Free Campus

Additional Information:

40 hours flexible part-time employment Fall, Summer, & Spring semester
