About The Opportunity
Position Summary:
The person in this position assists the operator on operating a flexographic printing press to produce packaging products according to customer specifications. The Flexo Assistant Operator is responsible for keeping the equipment running product while feeding the machine and checking quality.

Essential Functions: Changed from Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
- Demonstrate constant awareness of safety practices and report any unsafe conditions to supervisor
- Demonstrate commitment to quality and perform job duties in adherence to GMP guidelines
- Train other employees as needed
- Communicate effectively with associated personnel in all phases of the operation and processes, both verbally (speaking clearly in English and/or Spanish) and in writing
- Set up machine for production runs
- Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, stock specifications, colors, special printing instructions and any special customer requirements
- Read and follow specs and diagrams pertaining to printing, die cutting, scoring, slotting, folding and gluing
- Continuously check for quality defects on product running, and on the quality of finished product
- Complete required quality inspections and paperwork
- Work with peers and other department to improve quality and performance
- Repair or assist maintenance in the repair of machine as necessary
- Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of assigned equipment and surrounding work area
- Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors

Education/Certification
Level Required: None
Level Desired: High school diploma or equivalent
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business
- Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed
- Ability to effectively work in teams
- Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles
- Basic math and reading skills
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form
- Ability to make decisions based upon facts and act upon those decisions
- Ability to be both a self-starter and team-oriented

This position may be required to work overtime.
The wage range for this position is $19.60-$23.05/hour (wage is based on experience)
