The Firmwide Financial Control (FFC) organization ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of our financial results, providing crucial reporting to both internal and external clients. We scrutinize the general ledger, operating systems, and infrastructure controls to ensure accurate financial reporting for regulatory purposes. Our work informs external analysts, management, investors, and regulators. The Ledger Oversight & Control analyst will be the primary contact for business users of our general ledger, SAP, and will support SAP's internal Multi-Currency process. This role involves resolving production issues, project implementations, user education, and participating in projects related to the General Ledger and creation of Legal Entities.
Job Summary
As a Firmwide Financial Control - General Ledger Oversight and Control - Analyst within the Firmwide Financial Control organization, you will serve as the first line of communication and assistance for business users of JPM's general ledger, SAP, as well as its reporting and reconciliation tools. You will work closely with Line of Business Controllers and Technology Partners to provide resolution for a wide variety of production issues, project implementations and user education. You will primarily be supporting SAP's internal Multi-Currency process (MCA), ensuring the firm's Foreign Exchange (FX) exposure is correctly calculated and processed in the general ledger. You will also take part in projects related to the General Ledger, creation of Legal Entities, and reference data, acting as the subject matter expert during project engagements and as a representative of the business where necessary.
Job Responsibilities

  • Process SAP Multicurrency controls including analysis of the systems internal revaluation and restatement process
  • Process daily P&L Close verification
  • Monthly/Quarterly balance sheet reconciliation/substantiation and adherence to the firm wide General Ledger Attestation (GLA) standards for the specific accounts related to SAP controls
  • Preparing and processing of General Ledger entries
  • Preparing General Ledger legal entity and account set up validation
  • Supporting for events which require validations such as system enhancements/implementations, project go-lives, disaster recovery testing, etc.
  • Support for any audit or regulatory requests


Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related.
  • Prior work experience of 1+ year in accounting or finance industry
  • Excellent Excel knowledge
  • Previous experience with SAP ERP system
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools
  • Understanding of financial statements, accounting procedures, internal and external reporting
