Overview
Join the Transceiver Module Engineering team at Lumentum, where you will contribute to groundbreaking projects that shape the future of optical technologies and commercial laser solutions. Our team is focused on designing and optimizing innovative solutions to meet the evolving demands of the industry. As an intern, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers and gain hands-on experience in developing real-world applications.
Responsibilities
As a Firmware Test Engineering Intern, you will:
- Learn about Optical Transceiver Modules and related standards.
- Assist in the testing of Firmware of Transceiver Modules, by executing test cases.
- Implement new automated test cases, in a programming language such as python and/or C#.
- Review test results, create a test report. Document new test cases.
- Summary data, including performing data analysis from testing, into appropriate reports for engineering teams to support design validation and improve product performance.
- Prepare test result summary documentation and present findings to the engineering team.
Location
This internship will be on-site in San Jose, California.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Electrical Engineering, Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
- Must be returning to school following the internship.
Desired Qualifications
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with source control methodology.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to teamwork.
