POSITION OVERVIEW

Alarm.com, a highly innovative and entrepreneurial SaaS (Software as a Service) company, is seeking a Financial Systems Project Manager to join our team.

The Financial Systems Project Manager will have responsibility for a variety of critical business systems utilized primarily by our Finance & Accounting organization throughout the enterprise. This position will be the lead representative for our Finance and Accounting departments in investigating, demonstrating, implementing, managing, and servicing our entire stack of both proprietary and third pard party software utilized by the organization and all subsidiaries. The ideal candidate must be curious and well-informed about the latest developments in finance and industry news. They will be customer-oriented and have a proven history of developing and cultivating relationships with a wide range of functional area stakeholders, including strong connections and a trusted rapport with senior executives. The candidate must be comfortable in leading complex projects from day 0, coordinating distributed resources, bridging the communication divide between tech & back-office functions, structuring materials in a coherent and actionable manner, using a variety of PxM tools, and function with independence, diligence, and discipline in pursuit of coherent objectives to improve our systems. This position will report to the Director of Strategic Finance and will work closely with other members of the Finance and Accounting, software development, and Executive leadership teams.

Candidates for this role will require excellent communication skills, technical competence, and robust project and product management experience. In this position, you will work closely with the software engineering team (PMs, SE, QEs, etc.) and stakeholders to ideate, maintain, and develop Alarm.com services and tools. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborating with finance, accounting, supply chain, strategy, engineering, quality, and product management leads to manage a portfolio of technology projects and company resources across multiple projects
  • Improving Alarm.com’s overall performance through the development of solutions to streamline back-office functionality and the enablement of new business models across a geographically distributed, technologically diverse, and varied maturity stage business population
  • Facilitating proper cross-functional allocation of team staffing toward strategic priorities
  • Identifying and executing on opportunities for synergy in shared system utilization associated with the integration of mergers and acquisitions
  • Contributing to the development of mission critical objectives and necessary solutions required to deliver results
  • Driving improvements in software development team operation by recognizing areas of opportunity, developing strategies to address them, and leading implementation of changes
  • Defining and measuring project milestones, effectively prioritizing deliverables, and managing cross-project, cross-team dependencies to meet team-wide delivery goals
  • Developing, defining, and driving project management best practices across a large product development team
  • Administering, tailoring, and implementing project management tools, including the Atlassian software suite, to optimize team operation
  • Collaborating and coordinating across other internal teams within the organization to ensure the success of Alarm.com’s technical programs
  • Mentoring other members of the team

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5-10 years overall work experience as a project manager within software development teams; experience with back-office-specific program or project management a plus (finance, supply chain, accounting, operations, etc.)
  • B.S. or B.A. from a competitive school with strong academic performance, technical degree preferred
  • In-depth experience leveraging project management software; familiarity with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence or similar project management tools
  • Must have experience managing ERP system implementation
  • Experience as a business transformation analyst or finance transformation analyst a plus
  • Experience in working in M&A integration is a plus
  • Leadership experience with the ability to motivate others and build consensus
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and customer service skills
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and at levels of scope that require both individual contribution and management of multiple resources
  • Advanced knowledge of business, technology, economics and/or finance
