About the role
The primary operating objective of the Investor Relations (IR) team is to effectively educate and update investors and sell-side analysts about the company. As Financial Specialist in IR, you will collaborate with and support the Manager and Deputy SVP of IR in developing and executing Intact’s IR strategy.
In this critical role, you will foster strong relationships with both our key internal and external stakeholders.
The successful candidate will join an award-winning Investor Relations program and work with a best-in-class senior management team.
Primary Responsibilities as Financial Specialist, Investor Relations:

Financial reporting – Collaborate with the team to assist in the development of key messages for external communication related to Intact’s public financial performance including:

Drafting quarterly press releases as well as the Management Discussion & Analysis;

Prepare presentation slides related to Intact’s financial performance; and
-
Prepare scripts and Q&A for quarterly earnings calls, webcasts and other investor events

Provide value-added insights to senior management and internal stakeholders – Work with the IR Team to:

Provide consensus compilation of sell-side forecasts, including analysis of consensus forecasts to identify the effectiveness of our messaging to the investment community;

Monitor P&C Insurance peers and broader industry trends to assess their potential impact to our Company; and
-
Provide periodic feedback reports about Intact’s stock price

Shareholder analysis & IR functional support – Assist the IR team with:
-
Monitoring shareholder base, and assisting in the preparation of quarterly presentations/ reports to senior management & the Board;

Development of slides and drafting briefing notes for senior management during Investor roadshow meetings, conferences, other; and
-
Help manage the IR calendar (including financial releases, speaking engagements, conference attendance) as well as managing and updating our CRM system

Qualifications
-
3+ years of financial, accounting, or actuarial experience; prior IR experience, equity research, external audit, or FP&A background related to the financial services sector are beneficial
-
Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting or actuarial science
-
Pursuing or attained professional designation (e.g. CPA, CA, CFA) or relevant graduate degree (e.g. MBA) is an asset
-
Familiarity with the P&C Insurance sector and knowledge of capital markets a plus
Requirements

Strong financial aptitude, with refined research and analytical skills backed by strong capacity to listen, observe and synthesize observations from multiple sources

Expertise with spreadsheets and manipulating data; translating detailed financial and operating information into clear and concise presentations and messaging documents

Intellectual curiosity and the ability to research and retain large amounts of information about the company’s strategies, financials, and operating environment.

Demonstrated strategic thinker and strong organizational skills, with ability to operate and deliver under pressure during busy periods

Highly proactive, and self-motivated team player; willing to take instruction and also operate under minimal supervision when required; take initiative and prioritize

Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills

Ability to collaborate, build and maintain relationships across various stakeholder groups
-
For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
