Job Summary
As a Financial Reporting Manager within the JP Morgan Financial Reporting Team, you will take direct responsibility for the production, review, and delivery of financial statements and related accounting/portfolio information for key clients. You will have the opportunity to manage a team and work closely with stakeholders, ensuring the highest quality of financial reporting in accordance with accounting and regulatory disclosure requirements. This role provides an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in IFRS and US GAAP, and to contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes and controls.
Job Responsibilities
- Review primary financial statements (annual and interim) and related notes to ensure compliance with IFRS and US GAAP, meeting client deadlines and service level agreements.
- Plan audits and resources with internal teams and financial reporting groups.
- Analyze year-on-year changes in financial statements and related notes.
- Consistently review and manage financial statements for large clients throughout the year, including during audit and interim cycles.
- Continuously analyze client accounting records and escalate potential issues as needed.
- Identify and correct misstatements in accounting records according to GAAP disclosures, and escalate potential audit findings and adjustments.
- Resolve team queries and serve as a technical, accounting, and audit reference for junior team members.
- Coordinate with partner sites for external deliveries and communicate status effectively and promptly.
- Interact with stakeholders to address accounting or financial reporting-related queries.
- Identify and act on process improvement opportunities, encouraging team suggestions for efficiency.
- Ensure risk and control checks are in place, and that the team follows updated checklists and SOPs post-audit cycles, liaising with the OCM team on issues needing review.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Minimum 8 years experience in a Financial Reporting or Audit environment in the Funds industry
- Post graduate/CA/CPA with major in Finance/Accounting will be added value.
- You will have experience in managing people, completion of performance reviews and setting objectives
- You will be able to demonstrate strong management skills and ability to build key internal relationships across locations
- You will have very strong attention to detail in review of documents and analytical review capabilities in relation to financial statement numbers & reporting
- You will have excellent knowledge and understanding of all primary GAAPS - Irish/UK, IFRS, US GAAP
- You will posses the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and juggle multiple client and audit deliverables at peak delivery times
- You will be able to implement change, seek efficiencies and manage initiatives along with your daily workload
- You will be risk, control and procedure oriented
- You will have analytical & prioritization skills and be capable of making judgments
