The Treasury Controllers unit is primarily responsible for Prudential Financial Inc’s (PFI’s) derivative reporting, analyzing and communicating actual and forecasted results to the senior management, Prudential businesses and external disclosures under US GAAP and Statutory accounting standards. The unit is also responsible for supporting strategic initiatives involving derivatives and associated Adjusted Operating Income (AOI) policies, derivative reporting for Federal and Global regulatory supervision, external disclosures of PFI’s debt, and financial reporting of Prudential Global Funding (PGF), a subsidiary housing PFI’s derivative transactions.
The Derivatives Reporting Team within Treasury Controllers is responsible for the oversight of Prudential's derivative activity and for the reporting, analyzing, and communicating derivative results on a GAAP and AOI basis quarterly to Senior Management and the Prudential Businesses. The team is responsible for internal management and external (SEC) reporting including the Derivative Footnote and the derivatives sections within the Investment MD&A and Fair Value Footnote.
What you'll do:

  • Analysis of quarterly derivatives actual results for domestic business units.
  • Quarterly derivatives analysis (AOI and GAAP) for the Investment Results Package for Senior Management.
  • Assist with the preparation of the 10Q/10K derivative disclosures (PFI, Pruco and PLNJ), including the Footnote, analysis of reported Realized Gains/Losses in the MD&A and the derivative Fair Value disclosures.
  • Hedge accounting and hedge effectiveness testing documentation across the company.
  • Work with various systems; Oracle (Prudential General Ledger), SUMMIT derivative valuation system, Power BI, IRISK and GAAP Supplemental tool.
  • Partner closely with internal and external auditors, Investment Operations, GAAP Consolidation, and SEC Reporting areas.
  • Design, automate and maintain various spreadsheets used to compile and analyze data.

What you'll need:

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 0-3 years of accounting / financial analysis experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Excel strongly recommended).
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a part of the team in a fast-paced, ever-changing and challenging environment.
  • Overtime required during peak period.

What we offer you:Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $59,300.00 to $88,300.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
