We’re recruiting for a Financial Reporting Accountant to join our finance team, based in our Leicester office, on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is a unique opportunity to join an ambitious business through its next phase of growth. The successful applicant will work as part of the Finance team, assisting in the preparation of financial statements, support in the preparation of regulatory reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
The successful applicant will:

be part or fully qualified with ACA/ACCA/CIMA
-
have up to three years’ of experience working in a finance/accounting role
-
possess good working knowledge of IFRS and other relevant accounting standards
-
have prior experience in a role involving the preparation and review of management accounts and financial statements
-
have prior experience working with a finance system, preferably Dynamics and Tagetik
-
excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
-
excellent communication and interpersonal skills
MORE ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Senior Financial Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of financial statements, in the preparation of regulatory reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You will also contribute to financial analysis, support the audit process and assist with the integration of acquired companies.
You will also assist with the external financial reporting of the Group, including preparation of IFRS consolidated accounts for annual and interim report, plus financial reporting to other stakeholders including HMRC and the FCA.
Other responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring all deadlines are met

perform detailed reviews of the balance sheet to ensure all accounts are reconciled regularly

prepare financial statements and reports for the regulatory bodies, e.g. Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)

assist in the preparation of audit schedules and respond to audit inquiries

assist with data gathering and financial due diligence during acquisitions
-
support in advising the business on accounting treatments, such as revenue recognition, impairments and fair value accounting
-
support the Senior Financial Reporting Manager in risk management and control processes

support the Group Tax Manager in providing financial data for tax computations
