Financial Reporting Accountant

Position Overview:

The Internal Reporting group within Corporate Accounting is seeking a Financial Reporting Accountant to assist with preparing FHFA Call Reports and the monthly close process. The preparation of Call Reports requires extensive use of PeopleSoft nVision financial layouts, PeopleSoft queries, Hyperion, and wDesk. The close process includes financial statement preparation and review, and subsequent reporting to both internal and external audiences.

Our Impact:

• We are responsible for preparing, completing and submitting numerous Call Reports to FHFA on both a monthly and quarterly cadence

• We routinely interact with FHFA to answer questions and create or modify Call Reports

• We are responsible for the monthly General Ledger close process, including closing the ledger and running financial statements

Your Impact:

• Prepare monthly and quarterly call reports for submission to FHFA, and assist with the change management process for these reports

• Research Call Report questions from FHFA, including working with business areas that provide related Call Report data

• Prepare our recurring monthly internal financial reports, including assisting with the preparation of the Monthly Volume Summary

• Assist with the change management process and User Acceptance Testing of our financial layouts

• Cross-train on other team responsibilities including the monthly account reconciliation (“ARMR”) process and prepare other required regulatory reports

Qualifications:

• 2 – 5 years of experience in an accounting or financial reporting position

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

• Familiarity with one or more general ledger and financial reporting tools

Keys to Success in this Role:

The preferred candidate should have a strong interest in learning and understanding the underlying accounting concepts that support our financial reporting. In this position, you should have strong analytical skills, a desire to enhance your technical skills, be highly organized, possess strong communication skills, meet or beat deliverable deadlines, and be able to run multiple projects at the same time. We are looking for somebody that will grow their influence and responsibilities with limited guidance.

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $75,000 - $113,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
