About the team

The finance department of Thales Nederland consists of ~50 team members organized in 2 different competence centers (clusters):

• Shared Services Accounting, Financial Control & Budgetary Control;
• Bid & Project, Industrial and Procurement Control (Business Control)

The Shared services team is responsible for the accounting, reporting and budgeting activities of Thales Nederland B.V. For the Financial Control team, we are looking for a:

Financial Controller

About the job

As a Financial Controller, you will be concerned with all aspects of our accounting and reporting processes. You will oversee our company’s financial integrity by ensuring accurate bookkeeping, preparing detailed financial reports and maintain compliance with regulations. In this job you will see and learn different parts of the Finance organization, which will be a good base for your further career path.

The main tasks are:

• Prepare various (management) reports and analyses for internal customers and for our auditors
• Acquire all the necessary knowledge to grow to the key-user role of our General Ledger
• Responsible for the correctness of our General Ledger
• Actively assist in the preparation of the month-end closing and setting up the ERP system for new periods
• Responsible for periodic activities regarding rates, journal entries, reconciliations and other transactions
• Fixed assets and inventory accounting (including reports related to this

About you

• You have just finished your Bachelor degree in Finance or started some years ago with your working career in Financial Control, Accounting or in a similar role
• You have an enthusiastic, pro-active attitude and feel responsible for your job
• You are analytically minded, have problem-solving abilities and a great attention for detail
• You have good communication skills in Dutch and English
• You are able to work independently, in a team environment and with various organizational levels
• Affinity with ERP systems and IT tooling is an advantage; preferably Oracle
