Role Value Proposition:
The Financial Consultant (FC) has overall accountability for the day-to-day financial support of multiple National Accounts clients. The FC is part of an overall account team tasked with understanding the customers' needs and wants and focused on delivering group benefit products that meet those needs, along with delivering a service experience that exceeds expectations and makes it easy for customers to do business with MetLife .
Key Responsibilities:
- Overall accountability for the financial support of multiple or highly complex National Accounts clients for the US Government and Affinity & Member Benefits Customer Unit:
- Responsible for the development and completion of customer financial reports, including identifying reporting needs, data and trend analysis and effectively communicates results to client
- Effectively manages the timely delivery of client reports by prioritizing and understanding client needs
- Completes year-end financial accounting and 5500 reporting for clients
- Validates monthly revenue projections and responsible for data integrity
- Responsible for monitoring the key financial parameters of internal management reporting and capable of proactively identifying discrepancies, trends and results that would impact Customer Unit financial objectives
- Responsible for client billing, reconciliation, and partnering with internal and external contacts to ensure billing is entered accurately and timely
- Serves as a key resource and subject matter expert to the Customer Unit and National Accounts and serves as a team leader in support of the Financial Manager
- Partners with Account Executive and Client Services Team in meeting and exceeding the customers' expectations
- Participates in client meetings, in person or via conference call, and prepares materials as needed
- Participates in client account audits and actively engages in strategic planning process demonstrating recognition of opportunities for solutions and new products and services
- Develops and enhances strong, long-term client relationships, instilling client trust and loyalty with MetLife
- Responsible for reviewing and documenting current financial processes and providing information for internal audits as needed
- Provides financial support to Request For Proposal process and Implementation of new clients, as well as the addition of new products to existing clients
- Prepares historical information for Financial Consulting Services to assist them with the renewal and underwriting and actively contributes to client strategy discussions
- Independently leads cross-functional project teams designed to support key National Accounts initiatives or to enhance operational effectiveness
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software, especially Excel
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent accounting/math problem solving skills, including attention to detail, analytical thinking and decisiveness
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree
- Ability to work autonomously; effectively handle multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines appropriately and remain flexible
- Ability to balance client expectations with MetLife capabilities and understand the impact both administratively and financially
- Strong project management skills
- Self-motivated to learn more about the business and is proactive in personal development
The salary range for applicants for this position is $73,000-95,000.
