Do you have a wealth of business and/or operations experience at multinational corporations, working in such areas as financial management, business consultancy, controlling, or commercial planning? We are looking for a Financial Business Analyst that rounds out our North American FP&A team, with a focus on supporting the Canadian market. This role is not required to live in Canada. This position may be fully remote or a hybrid model depending on the location of the applicant.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
- Financial Planning: Supports the development and execution of financial and operational plans throughout the planning cycles (forecasting, budgeting, inventory planning). Tracks performance against budget, analyzes variances, and provides recommendations to optimize resource allocation based on financial performance.
- Financial Reporting: Provides reporting and analysis of financial, operating and sales data on a monthly, quarterly, annual basis and intermittently throughout the year as needed.
- Supports the North American business by creating and managing financial models and delivering insights on key operational metrics.
- Business Analytics acumen needed to understand and communicate trends and risk factors, and to escalate issues on a timely basis.
- Analysis of existing processes and working to improve or adapt new processes as necessary. This will be a “roll-up-the-sleeves” person who will help to improve business processes as the organization grows.
- The analyst will facilitate a better understanding of the drivers of our business and supporting decisions on future investments, by:
- Analyzing and defining the dependencies between the different drivers; and
- Proposing implementation of new or adapted metrics
- Assist Accounting team with month end closing responsibilities and reporting.
WHAT YOU NEED TO WIN
- BS degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field, or 5+ years of relevant work experience
- Strong understanding of financial concepts, accounting principles, and Financial Statements
- Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and budgeting
- Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as Excel and Oracle. Tableau knowledge is a plus
- Perform highly detailed work with accuracy and precision
- Ability to work independently as well as as part of a team.
- Must thrive in a fast-paced highly collaborative environment
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and/or quickly adapt to changes and manage against deadlines
- Outstanding presentation, reporting, documentation and communication skills
- Exceptionally organized and a quick learner
- Hands on experience with statistical analysis and statistical packages is a plus
- Proficiency in scripting, modeling, and query languages such as Python, SQL, and/or R Studio is a plus
