The Opportunity
This position works out of our San Juan location in the International Finance (IFO) Division.
Our medical devices help more than 10,000 people have healthier hearts, improve quality of life for thousands of people living with chronic pain and movement disorders, and liberate more than 500,000 people with diabetes from routine finger sticks.
As the Financial Analyst, you will perform a variety of complex duties in general accounting such as analyzing accounts, preparing reports, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and performing the monthly financial close, initiating bank transfers, and cash management. Ensures integrity of affiliate business financials and maintains sound internal controls consistent with General Accepted Accounting Practices, Corporate Financial Procedures, and sound business practices.
What You’ll Do
- Responsible for General Accounting Journal entries such as Cash, Inventory In transit, Intercompany, among others.
- Responsible of properly completing assigned group reconciliations including resolving reconciling items and any issues on a timely manner.
- Support share services in the intercompany process and resolution of any OOB in a timely matter.
- Process cash management for all Puerto Rico affiliates.
- Maintain controls to assurance appropriate integrity and reasonableness of financial data as well as compliance with corporate, division financial policies and procedures, and understanding of GAAP.
- Oversees physical inventory verification.
- Prepares financial data and issuance of accurate month end activities in accordance with Corporate and Division calendars and acts as backup for month end reporting in HFM.
- Responsible for adherence to Abbott accounting policies and procedures (CFMs). Provide financial support and fully support achievement of financial plans, goals and objectives.
- Support external and internal audits in the information gathering and analysis.
- Support Commercial Divisions on preparation of business Plan and LBE's, budget monitoring and provide financial data details.
- Operate with limited supervision on projects with significant interface across functions and groups, meet deadlines and balance workload requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting: Finance or Business Administration.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Ability to understand accounting cycle and perform various analyses required.
- Good communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Proficient PC software, including experience in Word, spreadsheets and accounting applications.
- Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate the ability to comply with monthly closing deadlines.
- Professional attitude and high level of integrity.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Two (2) to Four (4) years of experience in accounting.

The base pay for this position is
$53,300.00 – $106,700.00
