About This Position

ChristianaCare is looking for a Financial Analyst / Senior Research Accountant to provide post award accounting functions for sponsored program grants and contracts. This position will ensure post award activities are being conducted in accordance with Federal, State, contractual and institutional requirements and also provide financial information and maintain communication with senior leadership, department chairs, principal investigators and frontline staff. This role will also spearhead month end financial closing duties for sponsored programs. Some responsibilities include:

  • Completes month end financial closing tasks related to sponsored programs within established timeframe. Month end closing tasks include completing revenue entries, processing approved payment transfers, reconciling research bank accounts, processing pharmacy charges, and completing other journal entries as needed.
  • Performs monthly account reconciliations for general ledger accounts related to sponsored program cash, revenue, and receivables.
  • Reconciles fixed monthly close schedules for revenue and account receivables.
  • Codes sponsored program checks.
  • Collaborates with Treasury, Accounting, Patient Financial Services, and Frontline departments to investigate receipt of payments that do not include sufficient identifying information.
  • Manages post award aspects of the Workday Grants module for assigned department portfolio.

Desired candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management, Finance or related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounting/Finance. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
