Title:  Financial Analyst
Client:  Federal Agency
Location: Washington, D.C.
Ability to Work: Hybrid - 3 days of telework and 2 days in the office per week
Clearance:  Public Trust 
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance; the applicant must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Work Schedule: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
Workday: Monday – Friday

Position Summary:
The Financial Analyst will provide financial support to a federal agency, ensuring efficient financial operations, compliance with regulations, and alignment with organizational goals. This role is crucial in managing financial activities such as budgeting, auditing, and forecasting while working closely with teams and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial analysis, reporting, and resource management, with a focus on government processes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to support decision-making and ensure sound financial practices.
  • Oversee financial operations to ensure compliance with federal guidelines and internal policies.
  • Analyze and interpret financial data to recommend strategies for resource optimization and cost efficiency.
  • Support the preparation and execution of financial audits and reviews, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop, monitor, and evaluate financial plans and policies that align with organizational goals.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior financial analysts, enhancing team development and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data, analyze financial trends, and create comprehensive financial reports.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions and documentation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
  • Must have five years of professional experience directly related to financial analysis and operations.
  • Would like someone to have at least two years of supervisory experience is highly desired.
  • Strong understanding of federal financial regulations and procedures.

Desired Skills:

  • Proficient in financial management software and tools, including Excel, financial systems, and other relevant technologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with teams and stakeholders at various levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
