How you will make an impact
The Financial Accountant is an integral part of Cabrini’s Finance team and is responsible for financial accounting functions including core areas in Balance Sheet reconciliations, month end accruals and reporting. You will be joining an experienced and dedicated team who work collaboratively with each other and with key stakeholders across the business to achieve shared goals.
Key responsibilities include:

Performing reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts

Assisting the Finance Business Partners with monthly cost/revenue accruals, journal preparation and entry

Analysing Income Statement accounts to ensure all costs/revenue is recognised

Assisting the Finance Business Partners with analysing the relevant P&L accounts and related Balance Sheet accounts they are responsible for

Maintaining and analysing the relevant balance sheet registers and completion of monthly allocation journals
-
Completion of other relevant month-end tasks

Assisting with process improvements and improving reporting and control environment
About you
This position will suit a Financial Accountant with at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a relatively complex organisation. You will also have the following:

Qualified in a recognised accounting qualification accepted by the CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (or are studying for this qualification)

Experience in healthcare finance helpful but not essential

Demonstratable experience in presenting complex information in an understandable format

Ability to analyse financial and performance data, be able to draw inferences and make suggestions for corrective action where appropriate

Understanding of accounting standards, their application and implications within the ‘not-for-profit sector’

Knowledge of financial internal controls and processes including using ERPs;

Good communication and interpersonal skills
-
Strong teaming skills as you need to be able to work with staff at all levels with varying levels of financial skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including strong MS Excel skills
