Join us as a Financial Accountant – Year-End Support (6 Month Contract) 

  • Opportunity to work on critical year-end activities and high-impact financial reporting projects in a dynamic ASX listed financial services business. 

  •  Exposure to Group, Life, and Funds Management Financial Control teams, gaining broad experience across different business areas. 

  • We work flexibly from our Sydney CBD office, typically balancing three days in the office with two days from home.

As a Financial Accountant, you’ll play a key role in supporting year-end reporting and financial control activities. This is a hands-on role where you’ll contribute to critical reporting processes, ensuring accurate financial results and maintaining strong financial controls, whilst partnering with the business and auditors. 

You’ll work closely with the Group, Life, and Funds Management Financial Control teams, helping to deliver half-year and year-end reporting.

 

Key responsibilities include but aren’t limited to

Year-end reporting 

  • Assist with ASX-listed financial reporting and preparation of statutory accounts. 

  • Prepare audit files and liaise with auditors and senior management to resolve queries. 

  • Contribute to the half year and full year reporting cycle, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. 

Financial control  

  • Supporting month-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and completeness. 

  • Prepare consolidation entries and ensure correct treatment of intercompany transactions. 

  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues. 

  • Assist in preparing balance sheet, income statement, cash flow reporting and related analysis. 

  • Prepare timely, complete and accurate balance sheet reconciliations. 

The skills and experience you’ll need 

  • CA/CPA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent)

  • Experience in financial control or audit, ideally within Life insurance, funds management or other financial services. 

  • Ability to work with large data sets. 

  • Experience with consolidated groups, financial instruments, and tax reporting (preferred but not essential). 

  • A strong communicator, with an ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. 

  • Working understanding of IFRS and regulatory reporting requirements.
