Job Description SummaryThe Finance Process Lead - Services is responsible for managing the accounting processes related to revenue recognition for the Services business at GE Healthcare. This includes, but is not limited to, the Service Contract Assets & Deferred Revenue balance sheet accounts, deferred charges for the Services business, specific GE Healthcare Service commercial offerings, and more. The scope currently excludes Standard and Extended Warranty.
The Finance Process Lead - Services will manage a small but diverse team, with both in-house accountants and resources from external service providers. The Services Process Lead will be responsible for driving technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting and analysis.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Provides functional management and appropriate people management, including but not limited to:
- Developing talented and dedicated internal/external team members.
- Building a reliable organizational structure, succession, and back-up plan.
- Representing corporate goals and priorities to the team and escalating feedback and help-needed to higher management.
- Utilizing in-depth knowledge and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy.
- Acting as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
- Conveying performance expectations and handling sensitive issues.
- Builds specific knowledge and becomes the ‘go to’ and escalation person for all Services related matters (ERP systems, accounting tools, account usage, reporting tools, supporting documentation, risk review preparations, etc.).
- Drives strong relationships between outsourced business partners and the Healthcare business for a successful working partnership.
- Organizes and ensures timely and accurate general accounting activities on behalf of the local GE Healthcare entities covered.
- Understands GE Healthcare Policies and ensures that all accounting processes are in line with GE regulations and principles, and confidentiality is respected in data handling when working with personal data and/or sensitive data.
- Coordinates and supports External and Internal audits for the area assigned.
- Ensures all balance sheet account reconciliations and open items are accurately closed within the agreed upon timeframe.
- Initiates and executes simplification projects and presents solutions to stakeholders for issues raised by the team or upper management.
- Ensures timely and accurate preparation of activities required for month-end and quarter-end closing (reviewing journal entries, performing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, closing open items, etc.) according to the business deadlines.
- Defines KPI’s to measure the performance of the team and to identify improvement areas.
- Understands and interprets applicable Enterprise Standards, SOP and Process Maps to deliver globally competitive financial process/accounting services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and minimum of 5 years of relevant financial work experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in U.S. GAAP, local GAAP and authoritative accounting literature.
- Experience in building up teams and processes in a multi-cultural, international environment.
Desired Characteristics
- Proven accounting experience in a multi-GAAP environment. Good understanding of financial compliance/SOX.
- Strong analytical skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change.
- Clear thinking/problem solving: successfully led cross-functional projects/process improvements within operations/finance functions. Able to quickly grasp new ideas. Able to deal with complex accounting questions.
- Excellent communication skills: experience working across multiple levels (including executive level), functions and regions. Able to clearly communicate complex financial information in an easy-to-understand manner. Able to deliver messages effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Solid PC skills: experience with financial systems/applications, excellent Excel skills, PowerPoint, VBA & SQL.
- Confidence/assertiveness: strong influencing skills across business functions; confidence to approach business leaders with difficult messages and defend position.
- Experience working in global business environment with sound understanding of global processes and transactional flows.
- Adaptable/flexible: open to change (positive or negative) in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations.
- Integrity: Accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others.
- Trained and/or certified in process improvement methodology such as LEAN or Six Sigma.
- Comfortable delivering against quantitative and qualitative performance metrics.
- Compliance & controllership mindset.
- Numerate with a good eye for detail.
