European Accounting CoE is a dynamic function serving Europe and the Middle East, specializing in Transactional, Operational, General, and Local accounting. With a team of 50 expert accountants, it operates primarily from Poland, with additional hubs in Germany, Bulgaria, and the UK.WHAT WILL YOU DO:
- Lead a team of finance professionals across multiple locations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, coaching, and professional development
- Supervise the timely and high-quality performance of SOX controls related to journal entries, 606 revenue recognition, and other financial reporting requirements to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Oversee the timely and accurate execution of account reconciliations to maintain financial integrity and compliance with internal control guidelines
- Ensure proper documentation of financial processes and drive the development of operational procedures to standardize and optimize workflows
- Monitor key operational metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in general accounting processes
- Provide active support for the implementation of SAP HANA and other system solutions, such as Tagetik, to improve financial systems and processes
- Act as a financial consultant to non-finance leaders, effectively communicating financial insights and influencing decision-making across various business units
WHAT WILL YOU NEED:
- Experience: 10 years in F&A, including minimum 5 years in General Ledger/General Accounting and minimum 2 years in managerial role
- Technical Knowledge: Strong in US GAAP, SOX compliance, SAP; Tagetik or similar tools is a plus
- Languages: Fluent in English – required, German and Polish - preferred
- Education: Master in Accounting/Finance; ACCA, or equivalent certification - preferred
- Skills: Leadership, problem-solving, communication, and ability to manage cross-border teams
- Travel: Willingness to travel between Poland (majority of the team presence) and Germany (largest business and team members presence)
