Hometrack Finance Manager
Summary of role
An exciting opportunity to lead the financial accounting and transactional finance team for the Hometrack business. The role will be responsible for providing a comprehensive technical accounting and financial reporting service. The role will manage a small team and will be responsible for the preparation of the business’ monthly management accounts, ensuring it meets its statutory reporting obligations, and has oversight of the accounts payable and credit control processes. Hometrack has an annual revenue of £58m and has leading brands in the supply of residential market data and property valuations, both in the UK (Hometrack) & the Netherlands (Calcasa).
Key responsibilities:
• Ownership for monthly reporting of the business’ performance
• Producing monthly reporting packs and commentary for both Hometrack & Calcasa
• Oversight of the accounts payable and credit control processes
• Management of the assistant management accountant, accounts payable clerk and senior credit controller
• Review and ownership of balance sheet reconciliations to agreed timelines with all reconciling items investigated and resolved promptly
• Manage statutory and group year-end audit requirements
• Work with the commercial team to enhance and improve the monthly billing run process
• Lead on process improvement meetings to drive efficiency within the finance team
• Manage team delivery of financial reporting in line with month end timetable
• Manage cash flow forecasting
• Manage VAT returns
• Ensuring adequate internal financial controls are in place and provide assurance that these controls are in place
• Support with tax requests received from our Group Tax department
Essential skills
• Qualified Accountant
• High level of technical skill including in-depth knowledge and application of IFRS 16, IFRS 15 and IFRS 9
• Effective stakeholder management skills with experience of working with both operational and commercial sides of the business
• Experience of owning audit requests and ensuring they are actioned upon in a timely manner
• Experience of working in a fast paced and demanding environment ideally in the Tech sector
• Operated in a group structure so should be familiar with the demands of reporting to a parent company
• Strong communication and presentational skills
• Proven experience of leading a team
• Self-starter who takes full accountability and is willing to support the team with the doing
• A strong team player
• Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
Desired skills
• Audit experience, ideally with big four audit experience
• Qualified accountant +3 years PQE
• Experience of using Netsuite (ERP system)
