CRYPTO OVERVIEW
We are excited to add a Crypto Finance Manager to join our Finance team. Bain Capital Crypto (“BCC”) invests in blockchain technology companies and crypto protocols. BCC believes that blockchain enabled technologies are attractive markets for investing, with ample opportunity to deploy capital efficiently and deliver attractive venture scale returns to investors. BCC will pursue investments primarily based in North America and Europe and selectively in other geographies, including South America, Asia and emerging markets. BCC will seek to invest cross-stage with an emphasis on early-stage teams building public blockchains, scaling solutions and applications that leverage public blockchains. BCC intends to invest capital, knowledge and time to enhance protocol or company growth while seeking to deliver venture-scale returns. BCC will target four investment archetypes: Pre-Launch Protocols, Post-Launch Tokens, Strategic Incubations and Infrastructure Companies building crypto infrastructure to support public blockchains. BCC will seek to generate attractive returns by leveraging the following distractive advantages: experienced team with a demonstrated track record, sector focused strategy with a dedicated platform, deep synergy with the Bain Capital Platform, patient capital deployment and meaningful alignment with fund investors.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Crypto Finance Manager will partner with the Finance professionals in managing key tasks including, but not limited to, the following:

Managing third party administrator to execute on Quarterly US GAAP Basis Reporting; annual US GAAP Basis audit

Working with internal tax and legal departments regarding implications of complex investment transactions

Review of cash flow management, capital calls and cash and digital asset distributions

Work with partners to execute public token staking and trading strategies with external qualified custodians and trading platforms

Create fund performance and waterfall analyses

Work with partners to assist in the preparation of quarterly portfolio company valuations & prepare summarized data for partner presentations

Work with Investor Relations in preparation of presentation materials, information posted to investor website, fundraising documents

Understand and document investment transactions, working with deal staff and outside advisors on deal closings and harvest transactions

Analyze various fund activities to ensure compliance with partnership agreements

Work with the CFO and VP Finance on projects to enhance the product of the team, department and firm

Other ad hoc responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS

6-9 years in Public Accounting in Crypto industry or Crypto related experience in an in-house accounting & finance role; demonstrated professional and academic achievement

Self-starter with strong project management and follow-through skills

Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects with the highest attention to detail.

Creative problem-solving ability and sound judgment

Strong team player with an entrepreneurial predisposition and strong interpersonal skills

Outstanding Excel and PowerPoint skills
EDUCATION

CPA or MBA preferred

Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting from a four-year college/university with a strong academic background (minimum 3.5 GPA)
