Finance Manager Consultant - Remote in the US

We are seeking an energetic accounting professional with strong grants and financial analysis technical skills to help advance our mission around the globe.
Finance Manager performs monthly financial analysis and reporting, compliance, general accounting functions with emphasis on billing and revenue, revenue recognition and grant administration. In addition, cross collaborate with procurement, disbursement and payroll departments. The candidate will have experience in a complex nonprofit that has multiple programs, revenue streams and multi-currency
Job Description:
- Non-Profit Accounting:
• Perform grant management functions to include journal entries, analysis, billing fixed price and cost reimbursement (work with programs team on a monthly and regular basis).
• Ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program budgets throughout the grant award life cycle.
• Demonstrate a track record in grants management as it relates to donor compliance and reporting for government, corporate and foundation grants.
• Experience with NICRA and provisional fringe accounting and reconciliations, allowable and unallowable costs.
• Assist in analyzing the deferred revenue schedule and monthly allocation.
• Review and maintain the SEFA schedule.
• Experience with gift-in-kind revenue and expense accounting including GIK valuation and documentation.
Audit & Internal Controls:
• Knowledgeable in coordinating annual audit activities including PBC and schedule preparation and managing the relationship with external auditor.
• Oversee various donor related audits in coordination with field programs.
Analysis & Reporting:
• Ability and desire to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including finance and non-finance managers
• Keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which allows for strategic data interpretation versus. simple reporting
• Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner
Communications:
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management or other outside partners
• Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment.
Qualifications:
• Must have experience managing non-profit accounting including GIK, donated services, SOA, balance sheet and full grant life cycle.
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP and CFR regulations.
• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and unwavering commitment to our mission
• A proactive, analytical, hands-on strategic thinker
• Minimum of a BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA and/or CPA
• Strong demonstrated and advanced excel skills
• Experience with Sage Intacct or another ERP platform
