The Opportunity

The Finance Manager for Commercial Analytics within the Corporate Finance Business Insights & Strategic Initiatives team provides analytics and insights to commercial opportunities/challenges within the businesses. This role will partner with Divisional cross-functional organizations across domestic and international affiliates at Abbott.  The primary focus area is Field Force effectiveness, and activities include – analysis of large internal and external data sets (e.g., customer relationship management [CRM] systems), problem solving, modelling, forecasting, financial modelling, project management, and potential solution development.  Additionally, this role will also support the Corporate Finance Business Insights & Strategic Initiatives team with strategic FP&A and strategy responsibilities.

Core Responsibilities:

• Apply an intentional methodology and approach for opportunity/problem framing, analysis, generating insights, and corrective action development when evaluating the performance of the Field Force
• Collaborate across multiple stakeholders in generating insights and determining potential solutions to improve Field Force effectiveness
• Propose opportunities to improve continuous monitoring of Field Force performance, including the use of leading indicators and statistical evaluations
• Proactively conduct quantitative and qualitative data analyses relating to indeterminate questions/problems, leveraging large data sets (e.g., CRM data, medical claims)
• Support the team Divisional Vice President and/or Director in preparing Executive level materials and presenting portions of the analysis, insights and potential actions to Business Area Heads, Business Unit Presidents, Executive Vice Presidents, and the C-Suite
• Collaborate with Finance-functional leadership and lead projects that cross multiple stakeholders - including Procurement, Economics, Tax, Treasury, ATO – by framing material issues to the company

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Marketing or related field, or another non-related field with an MBA
• 5+ years of working in the industry in which an Abbott business competes
• Proven history of critical thinking, problem solving and advanced analytics, providing insights, and delivering tangible results
• Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate complex topics effectively to a broad financial and non-financial audience
• Experience working within a team environment with various levels of management, including Executive level
• Proven track record of anticipative thinking and advising stakeholder(s) of evolving opportunities/issues
• Clear communication skills within a team environment and a track record of project leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced modelling and statistical analysis
• Experience supporting a commercial sales team and working with CRM databases or other large datasets
• History of connecting various and disperse data to generate insights
• Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting healthcare industries
• Experience working within a diverse environment with various cultures/nationalities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills interacting with domestic and international colleagues

The base pay for this position is

$111,300.00 – $222,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
