As an Expense Allocations Associate in our Finance team, you will spend each day defining, refining and delivering set goals for our firm. You will support the team responsible for integrating the heritage Corporate and Investment Bank and the heritage Commercial Bank expense allocation methodologies and processes. This integration aims to ensure seamless reporting of product and client segment P&Ls for the newly created Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB). You will report to the head of Expense Allocations within the Finance Integration Office and partner closely with the CIB Product and Operations CFO teams, as well as the Wholesale Client Profitability team, to implement consistent expense allocations.
Job responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting a full assessment of expense allocation rules used in Wholesale Client Profitability (WCP) and create an action plan to harmonize allocation rules for near-term benefit.
- Join various expense sub-work streams aimed at transforming heritage CB expense allocations to align with product reporting.
- Assist in analyzing the fixed/variable expense allocation framework for client-level reporting of ROE/SVA.
- Develop transparent expense allocation reporting to anticipate key themes and work closely with CIB CFOs to understand impacts on product and client.
- Partner and collaborate effectively with sub-work stream leads and stakeholders
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Independently execute on priorities, identify roadblocks and solutions
- Outstanding analytical and presentation skills (verbal and written)
- Business acumen: understands key drivers and dynamics related to growth and an organization's goals, with the ability to translate into product strategy and vision
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering or related major fields, CA/MBA (Finance) an advantage
- 8+ years of professional experience, preferably in a similar role in the financial services industry e.g. Planning and Analysis, Corporate Finance, Controller
