Job Description
Summary: This role is based in Delta, OH (not remote) and is responsible for leading the finance function and driving the financial performance and commercial management of BlueScope Recycling and Materials. As a key member of the leadership team, this position will serve as a strategic business partner to the President and senior management, aligning financial strategies with both BRM and global corporate objectives. The role identifies strategic opportunities to enhance company performance and fosters a culture of high performance, trust, and governance to meet both short- and long-term business goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide business partnering and financial leadership to guide business direction and identify opportunities for value creation. Shape and challenge business strategy, focusing on maximizing financial and commercial outcomes.
- Drive business performance by leveraging data and insights to optimize commercial and overall business outcomes. Use visualization tools to make data accessible for decision-making.
- Lead innovation in finance by creating and implementing new processes and services to improve efficiency and competitiveness. This includes standardizing processes and adopting key technologies.
- Take a proactive approach to balancing risk and uncertainty in pursuing strategic and commercial objectives.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information for decision-making and external reporting.
- Utilize data and digital tools to create sustainable value across all areas of responsibility.

- Financial planning & analysis, including strategic planning and analytics to drive performance

Qualifications
Minimum Education & Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
- 10+ years of advanced financial experience, including strategy development, financial planning, and policy formulation
- 5+ years of experience managing staff, with proven coaching and leadership outcomes
- Strong background in accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced operational environment
- Process-oriented mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Finance or Business Administration
- CPA or CFA certification
Quantitative Scope:
- 3 direct reports, 23 indirect reports
