Leidos’ Defense Systems is seeking a talented Finance & Business Operations Senior Manager to support our Aerospace Business Area. Leidos Defense Systems Sector provides a diverse portfolio of systems, solutions, and services covering land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace for customers worldwide. Our Aerospace Business Area delivers solutions in support of national security and civil missions in space, threat and cyber systems, hypersonics, and cutting-edge materials technology. Selected candidate is required to provide 100% onsite support from our San Diego - CA office or Huntsville - AL office (No Telework).
As a core member of the team, you will play a valuable part in supporting and executing Space Sensing and Commercial Space capabilities for a variety of customers. You will be required to support multiple tasks in parallel, productively contribute to and lead team environments, and communicate effectively to management, coworkers, and customers. You must also be self-motivated and highly organized with a focus on managing customer expectations with a constant goal of generating high quality products that exceed stakeholder expectations.
You will work directly with the Division Vice President and Program Managers to define the division’s financial goals and drive closure of those objectives. This position will be responsible for managing the overall execution of a portfolio of programs baselines and provide recommendations to achieve flawless program execution. Additionally, this position will support various proposal efforts across the portfolio, providing financial insights into proposal teams, developing cash flow analysis and supporting business case and profitability analysis to drive the long-term growth of the organization.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning and overseeing diverse activities within a finance organization, leading a team of experienced professionals
- Provides vision and strategic insights for the organization and makes policy and process recommendations to drive the space business
- Develop deep understanding of customer missions and requirements to provide complex and tailored feedback. Leads the line of business in developing new products and processes to handle the complex needs of our customers
- Communicate with internal and external parties and influence others outside of finance team on policies, practices and procedures.
- Pre-emptively identify programmatic risk and work directly with Program Manager and financial analysts to develop mitigation plans; recommend and implement cost reduction measures
- Provide hands-on support and strategy development for on-contract growth and new business proposals and help develop winning bids. Provide insights and roadmap for successful financial execution
- Develop and then drive execution of the division’s Annual Operating Plan (AOP), quarterly financial forecasts and EACs; Support month-end closing process and perform variance/trend analyses
- Lead division and Business Area initiatives with other functional and line leaders to further the financial and business objectives of the organization
- Drive cash management processes across the division to include timely submittal of invoices, collections, and inventory optimization
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, finance, or a related discipline and 8+ years of well-rounded experience in multiple areas of finance.
- Must have prior experience managing teams of individual contributors.
- Government and Manufacturing Program Finance experience.
- Advanced knowledge of multiple contract types (FFP, FPLOE, T&M, Cost Plus and hybrid contracts), terms and conditions and billing/reporting requirements.
- Analytical, communication and presentations skills needed as well as being able to operate independently.
- Advanced in accounting and business intelligence software (MS Excel or other tools) that provide capability.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the organization and with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- US citizenship is required and able to obtain security clearance as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to transfer knowledge and expertise to others and learn quickly in new and challenging assignments
- Understanding of proposal processes and pricing control policies
- Experience in implementation of Earned Value Management Systems
- Knowledge of Leidos financial systems and applications; such as: Cost Point, Hyperion, OBI, Cognos, Fusion, and Cost Point.

Pay Range:Pay Range $112,450.00 - $203,275.00
