ValGenesis is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Associate to join our Finance team. Your responsibilities will encompass maintaining accurate records of financial transactions, assisting with month-end closing procedures, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Manage Accounts Receivables (AR) and Accounts Payables (AP) – ensure timely invoicing, collections, and vendor payments.
- Perform regular reconciliations: bank, cash, credit card, AR/AP, and intercompany transactions.
- Coordinate with internal and external consultants/auditors to ensure smooth financial workflows.
- Perform data entry for accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare purchase orders, sales invoices, and assist in client billing cycles
- Reconcile bank statements and review general ledger accounts.
- Help with the execution of month-end closing processes.
- Maintain financial records and documentation for audits.
- Coordinate with other departments to gather necessary financial information.
- Support the finance team in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Participate in process improvements and efficiency initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
- 1-3 years of experience in finance or accounting roles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, IF conditions, etc.) and financial software
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of GAAP is a plus
