About the Role

We're seeking a skilled Finance Analyst to join our Interleasing team in Melbourne on a one year full time contract. This key position will manage the finance function for multiple businesses within our, including Interleasing and Just Honk Used Cars.

The Role:

Financial & Management Accounting Responsibilities:

  • Oversee financial and management accounting for Financial Services lines of business.
  • Manage month-end, half-year, and year-end close to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Review financial results for accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyse and explain key financial statements (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow) and performance.
  • Approve and ensure timely resolution of monthly general ledger reconciliations.
  • Work with operations to stay updated on business changes and developments.
  • Ensure the integrity of accounting systems and drive improvements.
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Oversee the accounts payable (AP) function to ensure timely and accurate vendor payments.

Treasury Operations

  • Oversee daily, weekly and monthly cash forecast to maximize interest income

Business Transition and Transformation Responsibilities:

  • Consolidate finance support functions in Melbourne.
  • Partner with GM Financial Services and State Managers on financing, profitability analysis, pricing, and new service offerings.
  • Contribute to mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities.

Statutory Reporting & Compliance Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements, including FBT and GST returns.
  • Assist in preparing corporate tax returns for review by the Group Financial Reporting Manager and external consultants.
  • Ensure adherence to tax reporting and compliance obligations.

What You'll Need

  • CA/CPA qualification with 5-10 years of relevant experience
  • Strong technical accounting and financial analysis skills
  • Proven ability to engage and influence at senior levels
  • Excellence in problem-solving and attention to detail
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams
  • Superior Excel skills
