About this role
This Finance Analyst role is intended to provide additional support to one of our most critical business areas during a period of significant investment and change. In this role you will be responsible for all month end activity for the Tech, Product and C&T (Change & Transformation) business areas as well as supporting the Senior FInance Business partner with reporting, Outlook, Budget and ad hoc analysis and requests.
You will have plenty of opportunity to interact with a wide range of business stakeholders up to a senior level and work closely with them on both BAU and ad hoc activities, being one of the faces of finance and an SME for opex and capex.
What you'll be doing

  • Synthesizing and simplifying financial and non-financial data.
  • Supporting any ad hoc requests that come from the UK Tech team.
  • Supporting the business in the:
    • Completion of month end activity [e.g. journals, outlook & reporting]
    • Liaising with the business teams outside of month end to understand the outlook
    • Supporting the Budget & LTFP process
    • Increasing analytical output from the UK Finance team
    • Variance analysis
    • Capex tracking and forecasting
    • Depreciation analysis
  • Work with team members and feed into monthly financials review (MFR) meetings
  • Driving forward process improvement related activities for the benefit of the FP&A Central team and wider FP&A team.


How you'll be doing it

  • Own, maintain and develop accurate journal workbooks.
  • Competent use of all systems and applications relevant to the required outputs of the role (e.g. OneStream, GSuite, Microsoft Office)
  • Using business knowledge to enable work to be focussed on finance priorities.
  • Focusing on key risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborating across finance teams to deliver business outcomes together.
  • Investigating new technologies and tools and supporting process improvement workstreams.


What we're looking for

  • Strong analytical skills e.g. working in gray space, deep dives on queries, accuracy, spotting errors and asking the right questions.
  • Functional knowledge of accounting principles (e.g. P&L, budget & forecast etc).
  • Communication - within and outside Finance. Tailoring written and verbal comms as appropriate.
  • Relationship building and stakeholder management with teams internal and external to Finance.
  • Ability to coordinate a complex set of inputs with different drivers, timelines and priorities and bring it together in a story.
  • Continuous improvement and change agility mindset.
  • Working collaboratively within and outside Finance, achieving together cross-functionally.


Experience and qualifications needed

  • Ideally part qualified accountant or working towards a recognised accounting qualification.
  • Previous Finance Analyst experience helpful but not essential.
  • Experience or knowledge of opex and capex is helpful but not essential.


Where and how you'll work
This is a permanent position based in our Nottingham office.
We have a hybrid working model which gives you flexibility to work from our offices and from home.
We're big on collaboration and connection, so you'll be based in our Nottingham office 3 days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
