McKesson Medical-Surgical is seeking a strategic and results-driven Field Vice President to lead our private label product contracting efforts with leading Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) such as Premier, Vizient, and HealthTrust. This role is crucial in driving our market presence by securing essential contracts that enhance the visibility and adoption of McKesson's private label products. While the primary focus is on contracting with GPOs, this position also plays a significant role in supporting our health system sales teams and large strategic partners, ensuring alignment with their objectives and facilitating the integration of our offerings into their supply chain strategies.
This is a field-based role with travel estimated around 30%. Ideal candidates will live in the Dallas, TX, Richmond, VA, Charlotte, NC, or Nashville, TN area.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:

Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for contracting McKesson's private label products with major GPOs, aimed at maximizing market penetration and fostering partnerships with large strategic partners.

Support health system sales and strategic partners by aligning contract strategies with their objectives and providing expertise on leveraging GPO relationships to drive growth.
Relationship Management:

Establish and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders at GPOs, health systems, and strategic partners, serving as the primary liaison for private label product discussions.

Collaborate closely with GPOs and strategic partners to align product offerings with market needs and opportunities.
Market Growth and Analysis:

Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify trends and opportunities for expanding private label contracts, particularly within GPOs and strategic partnerships.

Work with internal teams to tailor product offerings to meet specific GPO and strategic partner requirements and market demands.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Partner with sales, marketing, product development, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless contract execution and product launch within both GPOs and strategic partners.

Facilitate communication and coordination across departments to support contract objectives and strategic partner goals.
Requirements:
Experience and Skills:
-
Degree or equivalent and typically requires 10+ years of
relevant experience. Less years required if candidate has relevant Master’s or Doctorate qualifications.

Proven experience in healthcare sales, business development, or contract management, with a focus on GPOs, strategic partnerships, and private label products.

Proven track record of successful negotiations and relationship management with GPOs and strategic partners.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate market data into actionable strategies.
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Management, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
Additional Qualifications:

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with a high degree of independence.

Proficiency in CRM tools such as Salesforce and MS Office Suite.

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
