Job Description:
Prestige Beverage Group is seeking a motivated, result oriented and strategic Sales Professional to join our Commercial Sales Organization as a Field Sales Manager covering New York & New Jersey. This position will drive the sales, portfolio, distributor and account level management across the Prestige Beverage Group portfolio of Wine & Spirit beverages specific to the New York & New Jersey markets. The ideal candidate will have expertise in the adult beverage category with high levels of communication skills, ability to drive success in the market and deliver superior sales results through management skills.
This person must be based in New York or New Jersey. Overnight travel and daytrips for this position are expected for at least 25% of one's time.
Responsibilities
Sales and Commercial Execution
- Drive distributor execution against monthly priorities, POD growth, displays and account activations (tastings, events, trainings). in addition to driving results in personal defined account list.
- Manage the day-to-day program specific activities and projects for New York & New Jersey General Market, Chain and On-Premise accounts.
- Directly manage solutions to grow their assigned accounts business, while driving results that deliver market share growth for PBG brands.
- Lead in-store selling, merchandising, marketing and execution for accounts.
- Support joint business planning process and align with local Commercial plans.
- Build brands by utilizing consumer and category trends to educate customers and distributor, solve problems and maximize sales.
- Serve as the communication lead between key customers, distributor and internal teams.
- Develop a deep understanding of assigned accounts and operate within their systems
- Collaborate with other members of the Commercial and Marketing/Creative team to create relevant and effective programs that support retail activation.
- Provide insight and recommendations for brand placement or brand development through fact-based selling.
- Develop sales collateral to conduct effective customer presentations.
- Work closely with marketing team to understand brand activities and standards.
- Develop and execute local programming to ensure brand execution in market associated with KPIs– includes: proper distribution of PBG brands, display/merchandising programs, shelf management positions, retail features and promotions.
- Identify business opportunities, analyze relevant data, think critically, generate alternatives, and select appropriate solutions.
- Represents PBG at key relevant trade events within markets.
- Understand all local pricing, profit, ROI, and brand economics across the portfolio.
Distributor Relationship Management
- Enhances and maintains strong relationships with Distributor General Market & Chain Teams, from Sales Reps through Managers.
- Implement and maintain consistent brand/portfolio trainings with Distributors to promote PBG Brands. This can include:
- Regularly scheduled presentations to distributors.
- Regularly scheduled work-withs with sales reps/mgr.
- Manage quarterly projects assigned by Manager.
- Spends a significant portion of his/her time with Distributors in the market.
Analysis & Administration
- Utilizes tools to analyze and understand the business (VIP, IRI, Power BI, Concur).
- Tracks, monitors and programs POS materials.
- Stays within all assigned budgets (T&E, Marketing, Pricing)
- Completes monthly market reports and calendars in a timely fashion; completes monthly expense reports.
Position Requirements
- 5 or more years of supplier and/or distributor experience within the beverage alcohol industry
- Bachelor’s Degree-Required
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding goals and objectives
- Intermediate wine and spirit knowledge
- Knowledge of Distributor Management
- Well organized with ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Result driven with strong problem solving and negotiation skills
- Well versed in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Willingness to travel 25% of the time
- Excellent follow up and timeliness
