Our Field Service Technician, HVAC are our boots on the ground, working directly with the customer providing technical hands-on support. As the on-site point of contact, with the support of the teams at headquarters you’ll work to resolve in-the-field machines issues. The FRE position will also support our sales organization and CSM team with scheduled demos and site visits. You will make sure to keep certification and training up to requirements per region.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Travel and deliver efficient field support to our customers using Carbon Robotics equipment.
- Quickly respond to customer concerns and identify the issue(s), in collaboration with other Carbon Robotics departments/teams.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships with customers and teams within Carbon Robotics
- Exercise safe working practices and procedures at all times.
- Participate in the rotation of weekend on-call duties and after-hours phone support.
- Demonstrates work cleanliness.
- Maintain all company property, including service truck, tools, laptop, Ipad, and safety equipment in good working condition.
- Attend in person or virtual FRE related meetings with other service team members to stay current with the Carbon Robotics Ops team agendas.
- Attend online or in person refresher training classes to promote continuous improvement of technical and non-technical skillsets.
- Demonstrate how to properly operate Carbon Robotics equipment.
- Support demonstration and implementation activities
- Working in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- In addition to the duties listed above, the position holder must carry out tasks assigned by their supervisor that are essentially related to their duties.
Preventive Maintenance
- Work closely with the Customer success manager team to execute bi-weekly and monthly PM tasks on the current LaserWeeder fleet.
- Ensure all LaserWeeder units are operating at peak performance through scheduled inspections, calibrations, and updates.
- Make sure the chiller and AC on our laserweeder are working in perfect condition.
- You’re the FRE, HVAC specialist and together with other HVAC specialists in the team it's your responsibility to make sure everything is up and running like it should.
Documentation and Reporting
- Document completed maintenance tasks and report any recurring or potential issues to the Field Robot Engineers and engineering teams.
- Maintain detailed records of all diagnostics, repairs, and system updates.
- Collect and upload data to assist with model labeling.
- Provide feedback to the Customer Success manager and HVAC potential areas for system improvement.
- Document best practices and troubleshooting guides for future use.
- Keep service tickets detailed and filled in in a timely and professional manner team
Ideal Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to diagnose problems with equipment or machinery
- HVAC specialist or interested to get trained from the ground up.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with ability to problem solve and communicate complex issues
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral with focus on customer support and brand awareness
- Excellent relationship management and customer service skills
- Organization, scheduling and ability to work independently while managing conflicting and overlapping work activities.Comfortable working in an outdoor agricultural setting, including farms and fields, often in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to maintain a calm, composed, and articulate demeanor when dealing with difficult customer situations in a fast-paced and unstructured environment.
- Attends and participates in meetings related to support and Slayer performance
- Ability to lift up to 55 pounds
- Trailer towing experience preferred but not required
- Valid driver’s license required
- English literacy required
- Travel will be required to support customers on-site.
