Under general supervision of the Field Engineering Manager, the Field Engineer I delivers pre-sales, implementation, and post-sales support of ATI gaming systems. The Field Engineer I acts as the technical lead for assigned customer sites, overseeing and coordinating technical projects with varying scope and complexity. This role involves scheduling, managing resources, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to complete client software upgrades, server and network installations and systems upgrades. The Field Engineer I ensures all project dependencies are met and provides on-site support and troubleshooting including physical hardware, software and firmware installs, install and upgrade support, and emergency technical support. The Field Engineer I will perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all Engineering communications with assigned customers, ensuring alignment with business goals and key performance objectives

  • Recommend and approve software installations and upgrades at client sites aligning with customer requirements

  • Demonstrate industry knowledge and build awareness of industry trends and innovations.

  • Utilize basic troubleshooting skills to resolve complex technical issues effectively and efficiently.

  • Develop and execute project plans, ensuring completion within projected timelines with assistance from Senior Field Engineers & Field Engineering Supervisors

  • Coordinate the configuration, setup, and implementation of gaming systems projects, including software, firmware, network and hardware installations.

  • Provide post-implementation support to ensure customer satisfaction and system stability.

  • Create detailed after-action reports for installations to capture lessons learned and recommend process improvements.

  • Completes audits of existing installations for compliance with standards and specifications.

  • Ability to independently manage customer-facing, business, and administrative tasks in a fast-paced and evolving technological environment

  • Monitor systems changes, upgrades, and communicate relevant updates to internal teams and update internal systems.

  • Maintain regular interaction with compliance managers and tribal gaming regulators to ensure adherence to tribal and company requirements.

  • Oversee and maintain Aristocrat gaming systems at tribal test labs and backend vendor test labs as assigned

  • Travel up to 75% as required to support client sites, project needs

What We're Looking For

  • Understanding of Windows client-server architecture and networking.

  • Understanding of Windows server administration including virtualization, troubleshooting and configuration.

  • Understanding of Linux server administration including Kubernetes and containers

  • Understanding of relational database server administration and database management.

  • Understanding of enterprise networking, including configuration and management of networks, VLANs, and devices.

  • Familiarity with cluster servers and SAN environments is desirable.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams

  • Ability to design and execute tasks following industry best practices.

  • Proficient interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to diverse audiences.

  • Proficient negotiation, presentation, and conflict management skills.

  • Highly adaptable to changing work environments, priorities, and technologies.

Education, Training and Experience  

  • Associate’s degree in Information Technology, or a related field and 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience

  • 1-2 years’ experience in technical position.

  • Technical certifications are highly desirable such as A+, N+, Microsoft or Cisco.

  • Experience with casino environments desired.

  • Required to obtain Tribal Gaming licenses. 

Physical Demands 

  • Physical: Ability to lift up to 100lbs for server hardware installations

  • Sitting/Standing/Walking:  Approximately 50% of time is spent seated while working at a desk or in a meeting. Balance of time is spent standing or moving between work areas while performing other job duties.

  • Speak/Hear:  Cultural and/or regional accents are acceptable. Clear diction and acute hearing are necessary for effective communication with staff, co-workers, and clients.

  • Vision:  Corrected vision close to 20/20 is necessary for automobile and other travel responsibilities associated with position.

  • Reading/Handling:  Incumbent should be able to retrieve and work with appropriate reports, paperwork, tools, and supplies, as necessary.

Work Environment

  

Work and office area is primarily inside a climate-controlled environment. While performing duties onsite at customer locations, the employee may be exposed to a smoking environment with noise levels ranging from quiet to loud. The employee may also occasionally be exposed to adverse weather conditions. Working conditions will consist of moving and working around customers of casinos. Aristocrat has a tobacco free office environment.

Pay Range$58,605 - $108,838 per year

Our goal is to pay a market competitive salary focusing near the median of our pay ranges. However, final offers for all positions will be based on several factors such as experience level, education, skills, work location, and internal pay equity.
