Secaucus, New JerseyJob Summary:The Style Director is a trend-aware fashion leader who directs the brand style for TCP and Gymboree. This position will manage a team of staff and freelance stylists, tailors, wardrobe assistants and sample coordinators to ensure the highest aesthetic level is met, positioning TCP and Gymboree as the authority in kid’s apparel.
The Style Director will recruit, develop and retain talented, collaborative, high-performing creatives who consistently deliver on-trend, brand-right styling solutions.
Responsibilities:
Key Accountabilities:
- Directs visual solutions for omni-channel marketing that promote brand strategies and business objectives, drives sales and positions The Children’s Place as the authority in kids’ apparel.
- Collaborates with VP and Art Director to implement creative concepts and bring them to life through apparel styling that aligns to creative strategy & merchandise big buys.
- Conceives and own overall style direction & vision for TCP and Gymboree apparel styling standards, ensure standards are clearly articulated and depicted in Brand Style Guides.
- Directs, develops, and trains the Styling Team (staff and freelance) to ensure styling standards and creative direction is consistent and aligns to creative direction and brand standards.
- Sets direction, reviews and approves Style Out walk-throughs conceived by Style Managers prior to review with leadership in Creative Marketing and Design teams.
- Manages staff and freelance Stylists and Sample Coordinators, ensures accountability in meeting creative standards and production timelines.
- Identifies and removes obstacles, adjusts workload and assignments to accommodate changing business needs.
- Evaluates ongoing organizational needs, structure and workflow to adapt to changes in company needs.
- Recruits and cultivates high-performing talent and develops leadership succession plan.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in fashion merchandising or related field
- 8+ years of experience in on-figure and still life styling, in studio and on location
- 4+ years of experience working with a children’s retailer marketing department

- Knowledge of In Design, Photoshop, Microsoft Office software
- Proven track record of developing individuals and teams, and retaining talent
- Possesses project management strength - able to plan, prioritize, organize, and delegate work effectively
- Proven strength in problem solving, analysis and decision making
- Must have financial acumen and ability to create and maintain a budget with frequent changes
