Tempus' proprietary platform connects an entire ecosystem of real-world evidence to deliver real-time, actionable insights to physicians, providing critical information about the right treatments for the right patients, at the right time.We are looking to build a laboratory operations team who are passionate and focused on developing state of the art techniques to processing and creating and interpreting vast amounts of genomic and molecular data. You will collaborate with product, research, and business development teams to develop the most advanced sequencing platform in cancer care.
What You’ll Do:
● Lead a 24/7 team of supervisors and molecular technologists in nucleic acid isolations and molecular pre-analytic workflows to support next generation sequencing.
● Assume responsibility for key performance indicators, making adjustments and recommendations where necessary.
● Provide vision and guidance for staff and supervisors managing a high-complexity, high-volume molecular workflow.
● Partner with senior leadership to ensure staffing, equipment, and team structure scales effectively with growth.
● Add value to the organization through mentorship, consultation, and collaboration with staff and leaders.
● Develop and execute continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workflow, promote employee engagement, and maintain a competitive advantage in the industry.
● Maintain compliance with QC and QA programs, ensuring policies and procedures keep pace with innovations in technology and organization.
● Maintain CLIA and CAP compliance regarding equipment, reagents, and training.
● Coordinate with peers to optimize cooperation between teams, promote representation of diverse perspectives, mitigate risk, and respond decisively to adverse developments.
● Lead teams in alignment with the mission and values of the organization.
Qualifications:
● At least three years of experience in a Supervisory role with direct reports in an operational leadership capacity.
● Bachelor’s degree required - MS or BS in the Biological sciences preferred.
● Previous laboratory experience under CLIA/CAP guidelines preferred.
● Experience and/or familiarity with Molecular testing preferred.● Ability to engage, lead and develop a high performing team.
● Ability to maintain the confidentiality of patient related materials in compliance with HIPAA requirements.
● Excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.

The expected salary range below is applicable if the role is performed from [Illinois] and may vary for other locations. Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and experience. Tempus offers a full range of benefits, which may include incentive compensation, restricted stock units, medical and other benefits, depending on the position.
Illinois Pay Range
$80,000—$115,000 USD
