About the Placement
Are you looking for a 12-month Industrial Placement as part of your undergraduate sandwich degree? If so, be empowered to take charge of your future at Takeda - winners of the Global and UK Top Employer for the 7th consecutive year.
For our 2025 Industrial Placement Program starting in July 2025, we have 1 internship available in our External Affairs team.
Based in our UK Head Offices in Central London, Paddington to be exact, with some flexibility around remote work, this role is based within our External Affairs department liaising with a wide range of our internal & external customers. You will play an important and integral role in our organisation.

Within External Affairs you will have the opportunity to:

  • Join our dynamic External Affairs department which will ensure you gain experience and insight into a broad range of communication and public affairs disciplines and projects.
  • You will be given opportunities to be part of key specialist or project teams, as well as the opportunity to lead and deliver on your own initiatives.
  • Assist the External Affairs team in engaging with a wide range of stakeholders and audiences from politicians and government officials to patient organisations and the media, through to our UK and Ireland employees.
  • You will be involved in the development of creative and impactful communication material as well as devising and implementing internal communications campaigns.
  • Support the team in providing media reporting, political and policy counsel across the business


What we're looking for
You are currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree and are looking to complete a 12-month placement, returning to your course at the end of the placement. Our roles would suit a candidate who is currently enrolled in a scientific, humanity or social sciences degree (e.g., policy, economics, international relations, English literature, languages, or digital communications), who thrives on working in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working as a team player and who is interested in developing a career in the pharmaceutical industry.

Who can apply and How:

To identify candidates, you may go through the following stages, depending on the results of each stage you may be invited to further stages: CV & Cover Letter screening, Online Aptitude Testing, Video interview with Talent Team, Online Personality Questionnaire and finally a face-to-face or virtual assessment centre. By applying you agree to your contact details being shared with third parties who assist Takeda in the identification of suitable candidates for roles.
Assessment Centres will be held in Early February 2025 and successful candidates will start in July 2025.
