EXPERIENCES / Responsible for planning and executing event and experiential marketing programs
**The priority location for this role is Atlanta, GA but the location of this position can be flexible for an Octagon office location with priority given to qualified candidates who will work East Coast working hours and open to hybrid work (3 days a week in the office) in one of our office locations - - Stamford, CT, New York, NY, Chicago, IL, Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA. Qualified remote candidates may also be considered.

Our team is searching for an Experiential Manager to help bring our Home Improvement client’s creative vision to life on-site for consumers to enjoy. This role will report to the Event Production Director and collaborate closely with the internal Octagon team and external vendor partners on day-to-day management of the activation program. Primary sponsorship properties will include US Soccer, the Mexican National Team, and MLS.
The ideal candidate will be organized, meticulous, highly collaborative, and comfortable voicing opinions and ideas. Creative problem solving is also a critical skill in this position. The Event Production Manager will be a key member of a larger account team and help develop more junior team members.
THE WORK YOU’LL DO
- Collaborate with a variety of specialty groups within Octagon (creative, client services, digital, etc.) to develop multi-faceted, branded experiences within sports and entertainment
- Will work on a variety of programs and projects with opportunities for both lead and support roles, but always as a part of a team
- Management of one or more direct reports is possible, leading all aspects of their early career development
- Hire vendors and partners to work alongside and bring activation elements to life
- Order and keep inventory of materials needed for events, including branded premiums and staff uniforms
- Host client and vendor/partner status calls during planning, providing relevant updates, and ensuring deadlines are met
- Compile and distribute agendas and notes for the aforementioned status calls on a weekly basis
- Lead on-site staff and partners at events and activations, including management of brand ambassadors
- Manage program budgets independently
- Work with internal colleagues to produce proposal decks and activation/execution guides
- Assist in brainstorms and thought leadership projects
- A moderate amount of domestic event travel will be required throughout the year, including nights and weekends (averaging once a month)
- Other administrative duties as assigned

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- A passion for producing and managing events in the sports and entertainment field
- 4-6 years of work experience in event production or experiential marketing
- Flexibility to take on leadership or support roles, working well within a team-centric environment
- Effective communicator both in persuasive and concise speech and written documents/ communication
- Proactive, solution-oriented thinker and doer
- Managing and prioritizing multiple projects with varying timelines and needs
- A knack and enthusiasm for being ‘in the weeds’, figuring out complex problems, and leading teams to ultimate goals
- Willingness to work non-traditional event hours and travel for work (Anticipated Travel: Moderate (25-45%))
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, especially PowerPoint
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for up to or more than 8 hours at a time
The base range for this position is $60,000– 65,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure, and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
